This is a lovely Remington Rand typewriter made in the USA in the 1940s. We are no experts about these machines so we would love to hear any knowledge about this particular rare model, "Quiet Model 1". The advancing mechanism that rolls the paper does not seem to grab the paper well. The ribbon is obviously mostly dried out. No buttons are missing. Notice that the machine latches into its case but is removable as well. This is a beautiful display piece and we believe it could easily be in full working order. This is a hard-to-find item with it's wide carriage. The actual surface space on the carriage is 20 inches wide. The carriage itself is 24 inches wide. This typewriter is in working condition. There are some things to note. First, it is missing the carriage lever. Second, the No. 6 key stands out above others and needs adjusting (this can be seen in photos). Third, there end piece on the carriage is cracked. This is also show in photos. I've tested all the keys, tabs, etc. and they're in good working order. The ribbon is faint and needs new ink or needs replacing.

Nice gray key board. Very few blemishes. Basic typewriter and case. The original platen, paper feed, ribbon feed, new ribbon, back space and bell are good. The keyboard is very nice and clean as is the typewriter.
