1938 Royal KMM Fully Functional Vintage Desktop Typewriter Tested - working The video you see I had to use a toothbrush to hit the keys hard enough to make them go all the way forward. The * key is broken. All other keys work. Needs a good tune up and cleaning.

The serial number is 1S15023 which should put production around mid February of 1935. Smith Corona started 1935 production with serial number 12726 and made about 1329 units per month. It also has a slightly sticky “i” typebar.

The product is a rare Conover typewriter from the 1800s, made of cast iron and originating from the United States. This rare machine is being sold for parts or restoration. I can't get the carriage to move or the keys to stroke.

In good shape. But does need a cleaning to be fully functioning. The carriage has spring tension but when you press the keys down it doesn't quite engage the release to move the carriage over.
