Quite a rare find is this original 19thC. Hammond #1 typewriter with original oak case. I I am not a typewriter expert! The typewriter appears to be quite original and untouched. I believe this typewriter has not been messed with, nor do I know how to work it. I do know when I hit the letters the interior arms of drum rotates, the hammer on back is not moving. When I touch the space bar there is some action but does not advance. I believe a typewriter expert will have to lubricate and set the arms as it has been sitting for many years. Please ask any and all questions I will do my best to answer! This is one of two antique typewriters I found in may travels this week. Both are listed on eBay. Measures approx.; case measures 13 3/4" wide x 12 1/4" deep x 7" tall. .

This is for a vintage Royal Quiet typewriter from the late 1930's. Serial number underneath the carriage is A784718. Everything seems to function as it should but I don't have a good ribbon for it to fully test how it's typing. It shows signs of gentle use throughout and could use a thorough cleaning, but it's otherwise in great condition given it's age. It still locks into it's case, and the case is solid even if it's exterior isn't the prettiest. The right clasp on the case still clicks into place but it doesn't spring out when opened, so you have to pull it out manually. Comes with everything pictured.

Vintage HERMES 2000 Portable Manual Typewriter In Case Tested, please READ Desc.. It has been tested and it working, however, the keys do seem to stick / be sticky. The typewriter is otherwise in nice condition. The case has done it's job in protecting the unit, and has plenty of wear and tear from how long it has been around. I appreciate you viewing.
