Based on binding, typography, and construction, this example dates to the late 18th century (circa 1770s–1780s). Copies like this were used as practical household references for generations. Antique leather spine with marbled paper boards.

VG+. Unmarked and clean throughout with minimal external wear. Boards sharp with only a couple light rub marks; no fraying or splits. Binding slightly shaken from size/weight but fully intact and holding soundly. Textblock crisp with mild, even toning. No writing, no stamps, no plates removed. Over 1000 illustrations including numerous vivid color plates and photographic/X-ray material. A very handsome example of this 1912 sixth edition.
