Scarce and very desirable volume from John Deaver, a physician of note from the late 19th. and early 20th. century. Oversized hardcover…11” x 8.25”. 5lbs.+. 816 clean, unmarked pages. Hint of tone at the margins. 399 fantastic illustrations, all drawn from dissections. Good binding. Internal condition of the book is very good. It’s hard to overestimate the quality of the illustrations and the heavy, top notch paper used. The exterior has light wear…..spine cover ends pressed, worn on the top. Corners bumped/scraped, shelf wear. Text block is nicely marbled. Private library sticker inside the front cover. Joint repair front and back. Exterior hinge repair front and back.
