The Hasselblad GIL provides automatic creation and storage of GPS information for all H System digital cameras. The data is tagged to each individual image file and can be read directly by Phocus. The unit requires no extra external battery or power source and works seamlessly in the background for ease of use. The unit behaves in the same way as most GPS units and is therefore subject to various requirements: The GIL needs a good signal from several satellites before it can operate. Contact with satellites is subject to a list of conditions including weather and materials in the immediate environment etc. In practice this normally means you should expect difficulties in most buildings, some vehicles, very cloudy weather conditions and even in thick forests, valleys in mountainous areas, dense high-rise urban environments and such like. Connection The GIL connects to the H camera via the accessory connection port on the side of the camera. A green light indicates that a successful data bus connection has been made.
