Epinions You Can't Always Get What You Want... but sometimes you can!

by  tch7,  Mar 10, 2006
Pros: Great sound, good looks & size, wonderful price
Cons: No screws for mounting, lack of optical cables
The Bottom Line: You can't go wrong with the Logitech Z-5500 Computer Speakers.
Review: Two days after publishing a review lauding the Logitech Z-5300E and saying that I wasn’t going to exchange it with the Z-5500, I had a sudden change of heart. My opinion of the Z-5300E sound system did not change, but the price of the Z-5500 did. ...

Epinions Goodness gracious...

by  biglilsteve,  Mar 23, 2007
Pros: LOUD, clear highs, deep lows, backlit control center, styling, price, large soundstage
Cons: Err, heavy? Very limited wall-mounting angle.
The Bottom Line: As mentioned earlier...this is an amazing sound system without even considering the price. When including the price, it's a must have!!
Review: As a college student living in the on-campus residence halls with just a laptop to my name, I was always forced to stick with the best 2.1 system I could find. Upon moving to an apartment where I could have my own room, I decided to build a desktop ...

Epinions Stunning - a real "Home Theater in a Box" champion!

by  acelamb,  Apr 17, 2007
Pros: Actual speaker wire terminals. Sound processor unit - built solid, works well.
Cons: High DTS sampling rates means for "quieter" soundtracks. Un-aesthetically pleasing wireless remote (but functions well).
The Bottom Line: Excellent value digital sound processing and frequency response, aesthetically pleasing (especially processor unit). Ported speakers really pack a punch coupled with the tight 188 watt powered 10" sub. Overwhelmingly good.
Review: I bought the Logitech Z-5300e's about six months ago to be installed in our rec room - or commonly known as the "gaming rig". The price was right at $199.99 (Best Buy) after rebates and seeing as it's 'big brother' - the Z-5500's - were $499.99 plus tax, ...

Epinions Value for money Digital Processing Powerhouse

by  jaymend,  Sep 27, 2006
Pros: Cheap, versatile, good sound, and overall good value.
Cons: Remote not backlit, satellite speaker stands not made of metal.
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended to those looking for a versatile and good sounding PC speaker system.
Review: I decided to get this system after the sub on my old Logitech Z560 started rattling. The Z560 have served me well for almost 4 years so I thought replacing it with another Logitech is probably the logical move. The Package You get a lot from ...

Epinions Powerful!

by  vynz,  Sep 30, 2005
Pros: Very powerful and clean.
Cons: Placement of sub is critical for good sound.
The Bottom Line: An excellent system that is more than worth the price tag. Versatile and of great build quality.
Review: Control Centre: This is the brains of the system. It includes all the controls, inputs and digital processing. The front panel has an oversized volume knob in a central position which is very pleasing to use, as it simulates a volume control on high ...

Epinions A Few Months & Still Overall Impressed!

by  schhin,  Apr 20, 2006
Pros: + Exceptional sound quality + Mola of wattage + Affordable Price + Attention to details!
Cons: - Wall mounting limited. - Big wired remote is a size of a book! LOL!
The Bottom Line: Its a very good system. More then have enough watts for your ears. With exceptional sound quality. For 200.00, it a very "sounded" investment.
Review: Patience is of a value, Just like many, I'm sure you have been looking around for opinions that is not too bias on either sides. Also, if it is or not a waste of your money. Just like many also, there is too many opinions made in a rush after an ...

Epinions Still awesome after almost 3 yrs.

by  shaila7,  Aug 23, 2007
Pros: Deep, powerful bass that can reach down low, clear mids and exceptional highs.
Cons: The version I got came with the speaker cable hard-wired to back of satellites.
The Bottom Line: For sound quality and loads of input option, you would be hard pressed to find a better PC speaker, especially for it's price.
Review: I got this set on Nov. 6, 04 so it's almost 3 yrs old and in all that time I've never had one issue with it and the best thing is it still works like new. In fact I would even go as far as to say it sounds much better now than it did the day I bought ...

Epinions VERY powerful, but...

by  imidj,  Aug 22, 2006
Pros: 505 big watts of power, lots of functions, good value, no distortion
Cons: Lack of treble (no tweeters)
The Bottom Line: Great quality, overall good sound (except for treble), big and powerful subwoofer... what could you ask more for such a low price? (OK, maybe tweeters)
Review: The Logitech Z-5500 is one of the most powerful PC speaker system you can get. At 505 watts RMS, this system rocks. Its giant 10'' subwoofer shakes the floor - and the walls and ceiling - like no other, and its five 3'' satellites reproduce almost ...

Epinions I love 'em!

by  tadan1,  Aug 7, 2006
Pros: Powerful sound, attractive looking, long cables.
Cons: "Line-of-sight" remote, non-adjustable sattelite speaker stands.
The Bottom Line: Buy 'em! You'll love 'em too!
Review: I got my Logitech Z-5500s as a gift. They replaced my defective Klipsch 5.1 ProMedia speakers. In fact, they replace three sets of defective Klipsch speakers. I purchased the original set and the others were warranty replacements. Klipsch has known ...

Epinions Aaah, the Z-5500, What a Beauty

by  teeteeplz,  Dec 22, 2006
Pros: optical, coaxial, and A Monster Sub
Cons: Large Controller, sounds bland w/o sub
The Bottom Line: My recommendation is that if you care about sound for your computer at all, then save up and get these because they will rock your socks off!
Review: I have only owned this product for a short while, a few days or so, but I am extremely impressed. I threw out my old 50 watt Logitech speakers and put these babys in. I hooked them up to my computer so I could only use 6 channel direct. You could ...
